2010 will be the sixth year that we have had helpers join us on the farm. We are currently listed on WWoof canada, Helpexchange, and several farm apprentcie sites. We have had people come for as little as two weeks and as long as a year. So far people have come from United Kingdom, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Germany, Denmark, France and Australia.
It has been a great experience meeting some very interesting people. I think most of the helpers have found it rewarding. While we work hard we also want the helpers to enjoy the Island so it is not all work.
In 2005 Brandon, Joe, Richie and Taylor stayed with us for periods of time ranging from 3 weeks to 4 months. In 2006 we have had Joe, Tim(1), Dan, Tim (2), Tim(3), Tobi, Brandon, and Keith stay with us. In 2007 Jordan, Joe, Jon, Nath, Brent, Mia, Matt and Nick came to help out. In 2008 we have welcomed Stefan, Daryl, Adam, and Harmon, Owen and Nick. 2009 saw Sylvian, Michael, Julian and Kim lend a helping hand.
We are taking bookings for the 2010 season now so if you might be interested in helping out on a neat project let us know as soon as possible.
This year we need your help working a large garden (vegetables, berries and Herbs), Landscaping around the house and barnyard, raising chickens, looking after a small herd of cattle, and fencing, clearing trails in the woods, light carpentry, the list goes on.
